De Forest Cornish served as an Assistant Principal of Student Support Services at The Charter High School for Law and Social Justice. Before joining the CHSLSJ Team, Mr. Cornish served nine years as a Special Education Teacher serving kids in 12:1:1, and Integrated Co-Teaching capacities with the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE). For the past four years, Mr. Cornish served a critical role in helping to transform the Committee on Special Education One (CSE1) as a Teacher Assigned and District Representative of Non-Public schools and Charter schools throughout the New York City and state region. Mr. Cornish is currently a special education consultant with The Linda School Educational Services Agency, LLC and CEO of the Cornish Foundation, Inc, a not-for-profit which serves to improve special education services, advocacy, and compliance mandates for private, non-public, and religious schools. The not-for-profit also serves as a vehicle for education reform and family assistance in African countries.
